Glen Lake is still producing good numbers of perch using crawlers. Blue water line in Big Glen is the best.

As the weather finally warms the salmon fishing in Sleeping Bear Bay is improving every day.  One of our boats got seven kings Wednesday morning, average size of 8-10 pounds. Biggest so far was 15 pounds.  Best baits have been stinger and fishlander spoons, also snakes and flies. Fish running 40 -80 ft. in 100-150 feet of water.  All the lake trout you want with moon bells and spin and glows.  Lots of bait so far.
Bass fishing is excellent in Little Glen using rapalas, tubes, leeches and crawlers. Weighed in a 5 3/4 master angler small mouth on Monday. It was caught on a leech. What a fishery we have in Glen Arbor.  Next tournament is June 21. More info call the Sportsmanshop at 334-3872

Memorial weekend, May 31

Best baits have been stinger spoons and snakes and flies. All the lake trout you want  in Sleeping Bear Bay and Good Harbor. Using moon bells and spin and glows, 40 -60 feet down.  Weather is warming and so is the water, it will be a great weekend of fishing in Glen Arbor.
May 1, 2008
Glen Lake and the Crystal River is one of the hot spots for fishing this weekend, if not the best in the entire state.
Limit catches of perch in Big Glen, yellow bellies up to 13 in. are common, take enough to eat and release the rest. Rainbows, excellent results trolling rapalas off the blue water line.  Crystal River is loaded with fresh steelhead, use blue fox spinners, catch and release is the way to go. These fish are spawning and will return to the big lake.
Catch and release bass season opens today, try Little Glen with raplala countdowns and tubes..   Should be average temps this weekend.

April 23, 08
Perch fishing is excellent in Big Glen off the narrows. Limit catches are common using blues and wigglers. Rainbows in Big and Little Glen is getting good as the water warms. Trolling the blue water line with rapalas or casting krocs is producing trout up to 22 in. And a few Coho are also being caught. Brown troutoff the river mouth is still slow but should pick up as the winds finally switch to the south. It should be another good year for catching Salmon and Trout in Sleeping Bear Bay. First two off shore tournaments are may 10th. and 17th.  Have fun

Have fun and good fishing,
